Hi quilting friends,

Come tie with us this week on our first big tying days of 2024. The dates will be Wednesday, February 7, and Thursday, February 8, 2024. We will be meeting in the big Community Room at KMVT from 10:00 AM until 3:30 PM. Please invite your friends who like to tie to come and spend some time with us.

Lunch on Wednesday will be on your own. Lunch on Thursday will have a main course of croissant sandwiches from Costco provided bt Community Quilts. If you would like to bring along something to contribute to our luncheon, please do.

We are starting our year with a supply of beautiful quilt tops to turn into usable quilts. Now we need to tie and to machine quilt. Our tying days this week will get us along the way finishing more quilts. If you can machine quilt or longarm for us, please let us know.

We have a lot of quilts to bind, and we are just about to get many more. We can use help in that department, too.

If you would like to make some tops, here are the sizes we need:
infants, youth, and bunk. We are covered for the rest of the quilt sizes at this time.

Just a note to say, we have lots of precuts to make tops with. Let us show you where they are in our stash.
We will be meeting in our workroom at KMVT on the following dates (first Wednesday and third Monday). Our times are 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Days are:

Here is one note with this additional handwritten entry from Terry Rowe who is the Development Officer for St. Luke’s Magic Valley Health Foundation. Hi quilting friends,

We have nearly made it through another year. We have good news to report to you about our work this year. We made more quilts this year than we did last year. That is amazing.

Our totals were: 677 quilts, 563 pillowcases, 276 laundry bags, and 1639 cuddle cloths. We also made table runners and wall hangings as well as clothes for ten dolls for CASA to give to some of their children. All in all it was a productive year!!

Our next meeting day is set for Monday, December 18, 2023, in our usual place, KMVT, in our workroom. We will have a normal workday with tying and all our other jobs. We look forward to seeing you.

We still have lots of quilts that need binding in our “Bind Me” box. You will find it on the table as you enter the basement door. Thanks to our folks who tie and those who bind the quilts, we were able to give more large quilts this time. There is always a request for larger quilts.

We will be meeting in our workroom at KMVT on the following dates (first Wednesday and third Monday). NOTE: our times are changed to 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Days are:

Hi quilting friends,

OOOPS! I got ahead of myself. Our distribution is not until December. Our next meeting day will be Monday, November 20, 2023. We will have our regular meeting day from 10:00 to 3:30 with all our regular activities. I am sorry I confused things.

We need to have all the quilts out to be bound returned by our December distribution date so they can be included in our distribution. We had a call from the Cancer Center with a need for quilts. We took all we had, 19 quilts, to them last week. If you have completed lap quilts, please bring them in.

Our orphan blocks have been sorted into sizes and colors. They are all ready for your help in choosing a color to set them. We can show you where the blocks are and help you with color selection if you would like our help.

We received a letter of thanks from the Bets for Vets event committee thanking us for our donation of a patriotic quilt for their silent auction. All letters are posted on the bulletin board in the entry area of our workroom.

Hi quilting friends,

Our next meeting day will be Wednesday, November 1, 2023. We will meet in our workroom from 10:00 AM until 3:30 PM. Come and stay as long as you can. We look forward to seeing you.

Our tying days were very successful. We tied 27 quilts, most of which were large ones including our whole stock of queens and fulls. We will be preparing more large ones in kits with batting, backing, quilt tops, and binding from those we have in our reserve stock.

We appreciate everyone who brought goodies for our luncheon on Tuesday. We had a nice variety of delicious specialities from our friends that complimented the chicken CQ provided. Thanks!

We received a lot of nice fabric from Betty Jo Jones that we have incorporated into our “to-be-quilts” supply. We thank Betty Jo for her generosity.

We have set our distribution days for the first meeting in December and the following day: December 6 and 7, 2023. We will stop our regular tying and set up the tables for distribution at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 6. That makes the sorting for distribution go more smoothly and quickly.

Hi quilting friends,

Our next meeting days will be October 16 and 17th, Monday and Tuesday. We will use the Community Room to tie for those two days. Please invite your friends who like to tie to join us any time during our work days from 10:00 AM until 3:30 PM.

We will be tying those two days, but we will also be doing all of our continuing work for Community Quilts that we do every meeting day: sorting fabric, creating new quilt kits for folks to sew, creating pillowcase kits, getting quilt kits ready to tie or to machine quilt. There is something for everyone as usual.

We received a generous amount of fabric and sewing supplies from Gina Ensusa. Her mother lived in the Buhl area and is no longer sewing quilts. The fabric is beautiful and is now in on our shelves. We thank her for sharing her mom’s lovely fabric. And, we thank Carol Wells for delivering it to us.

We will be enjoying lunch together on Tuesday during our tying days. CQ is providing bottled water, plates and tableware, as well as chicken for the entree. You can help by bringing something for the buffet table. We don’t have refrigeration, so if that is necessary for your food, please bring it in a chest with ice. It’s always fun to see what everyone shares!
We will be meeting in our workroom at KMVT on the following dates (first Wednesday and third Monday). Our times are changed to 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Days are:

Hi quilting friends,

Our next meeting day will be Wednesday, October 4, 2023. We will meet in our workroom at KMVT from 10:00 AM until 3:30 PM. We hope to see you there. There is lots of space to tie.

We have some quilt tops in many sizes, but we are always needing the infant sizes: 42″-45″ square. If they are a bit larger, that’s fine, but smaller doesn’t work for the neonatal intensive care unit at the hospital.

We need more pillowcases and laundry bags for giving. They are both pretty quick and easy to make. Kits have been created for the pillowcases. The pattern for the laundry bags is with the fabric and ties.

We are scheduling tying days for October 16 and 17th, Monday and Tuesday. We will use the Community Room to tie for those two days. Please invite your friends who like to tie to join us from 10:00 AM until 3:30 PM.

Some members of the Desert Sage Quilt Guild have donated quilt tops to us. We are so happy to receive tops that no longer will work for our fellow quilters. We can turn them into lovely quilts to give to folks who can use them.
We will be meeting in our workroom at KMVT on the following dates (first Wednesday and third Monday). Our times are changed to 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Days are:

Hi quilting friends,

Our next meeting day will be Monday, September 18, 2023. We will meet in our workroom at KMVT from 10:00 AM until 3:30 PM. We tied eight larger quilts last time using our new room arrangement. It was so productive to have more tying space.

We need more pillowcases and laundry bags for our next distribution. Geraldine has made a lot of pillowcase kits for you to choose from.

We still have lots of quilts to bind if you can help out in that area. There are all sizes of quilts, so you can find one just the right size for you.

We have received thank you notes from the Twin Falls School District, Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, and the CSI Refugee Center. We are putting them on our old bulletin board for all to see. We are very much appreciated.

Lynn Hedberg thanked us for our quilt donation to Bets for Vets, and for coming to the TF County Fair with our 9 patch blocks to create. Folks enjoyed making up the blocks for us to sew. They created over 60 blocks in four hours.

Question: We want to schedule a tying time for our end-of-year quilts. We are thinking that October 16 and 17th, Monday and Tuesday, would be good. We need to hear from you who like to tie if those dates would work for you. Please let us know.
We will be meeting in our workroom at KMVT on the following dates (first Wednesday and third Monday). Our times are changed to 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Days are:
