Hi quilting friends,
Our next meeting day will be Wednesday, July 5, 2023. We will meet in our regular space at KMVT from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM. Be sure to come to chat and quilt. Frames will be up to tie.
We are happy to acknowledge two donations for our work at Community Quilts. The first was from Collette Hoglund, who donated fabric, batting, and books. The second was from a member and friend of DSQ Guild, Bea Kilborne. Her son and husband donated some of her collection of boxes with fabric and patterns to be made. It is a large collection in which you might find a quilt to make for us. Check it out. Some boxes don’t have patterns, so you can choose an idea on your own.
As you know, we had a successful tying event that gave us many quilts to be bound. The box is by the entry door if you could bind one for us.
We are always looking for folks who can longarm quilts for us. If you know of someone who can volunteer, please let us know.
Jane Anderson, of the TF County Museum, said that there was an increase in attendance at the museum during the time we had our quilts on display. That makes everyone who worked on the display very happy.
We will be meeting in our workroom at KMVT on the following dates (first Wednesday and third Monday):
Wednesday, July 5, 2023
Monday, July 17, 2023
Wednesday, August 2, 2023
Monday, August 21, 2023
Community Quilts will be having a demonstration day at the TF County Fair in August.
