CQ News January 29, 2022

Hi Quilters,
We will meet this coming Wednesday, February 2, 2022, between the hours of 10:00 and 4:00. Be sure to give a hard knock at the door so we can let you in. Masks are required in the building. We will have quilts set up on the frames to tie. We always need help in this area to make our quilts ready for giving.

We have many new kits to sew. We have created kits using the Kimberbell precut donation that are ready to be sewn. You will find fabric and a pattern that can be sewn into a top for a quilt. The fabric is so beautiful and soft to the touch that it should be a joy to sew on.

We have several pieces that have been donated that we hope someone will want to take to design a quilt top. One is a hand embroidered set with a yellow piece for a back that needs to have a plan. There are several other projects that are more involved for those who like a challenge. We have a container of rodeo neckerchief scarves that might be sewn into throws for the Tough Enough to Wear Pink auction.

We continue to have a need for longarm quilters. We also have many quilts that can be tied at home or with a group. Please let us know if that would work for you. We can provide kits, tying materials, and frames for you to use.

If you would like to help us by binding quilts, we have some that need to be finished. There are several sizes of quilts in the “Bind Me” box.

Here is our schedule for the days we will be meeting at KMVT through March:

Wednesday, February 2, and Monday, February 14,
Wednesday, March 2, and Monday, March 14.

Kathy Silk, manager of KMVT, reminds us that everyone who comes in the building must wear a mask and be vaccinated. We will all be wearing masks until further notice to comply with their building regulations.
