January 17, 2022 Newsletter

Hi Quilters,

We had a great starting day with many quilters ready to work on projects. We welcomed new members who were happy to share their talents. We will meet this coming Monday, January 17, 2022, between the hours of 10:00 and 4:00. Be sure to give a hard knock at the door so we can let you in. Masks are required in the building.

We have been going through the Kimberbell donation. Carolyn Connelly has done some cataloging and is ready to have the fabric put into kits. If you have some easy-peasy quilt patterns, please share them with us. There are lots of blocks to be made into quilts.

We have several kits that are ready for the taking (and sewing), as well as coordinated color bundles; plus, there are many orphan blocks to invent quilt tops around, and panels that can be bordered and made into quilt tops.

We have a need for longarm quilters. There are a lot of quilts to be machine quilted. If you know of someone who received a longarm for Christmas and would like to do some practicing with their machine, please tell them that we have smaller-sized quilts that are perfect for the beginner. We can use all levels of expertise in quilting and have all kinds of quilts that can be made beautiful.

Here is our schedule for the days we will be meeting at KMVT through March:
Monday, January 17, 2022
Wednesday, February 2, and Monday, February 14,
Wednesday, March 2, and Monday, March 14.

Kathy Silk, manager of KMVT, reminds us that everyone who comes in the building must wear a mask and be vaccinated. We will all be wearing masks until further notice to comply with their building regulations.
